Costa Rica Photos: Tamirindo
Fast Food Central American Style. This is a bread truck converted to a kitchen with a roof for cover.
This was our one and only Imperial Draft. Yehhh!
Butch and one of the surf guides Luis Castro getting ready to jump in the boat. Luis is one of the best surfers in Costa Rica. He makes catching waves look effortless and then will bust an air in second! We're going to surf Marbella or Avellanas.
Big and glassy Witches's Rock! Four of us out with 8-12 foot faces and not ripple on the water the entire session. Butch paddled back to the boat after 30 minutes when he was sitting 20 yards or so outside of us and barely scraped over a set! 10-12 set waves at a time. The swell was around 8ft @ 16 secs.
Out front in Tamirindo. A really good beach/river mouth break at high tide. Long, fast, hollow and "barely" makeable lines!
A good trips.

Wake Paddle Surfing
This is a video of last Sunday morning, shot from Butch's 50' cruiser. Brad and I let go of the ropes at the 2:25 minute mark and are going about 15 mph's on three foot wake and a four foot rooster tail. We could have rode forever except for the "NO Wake Zone"! The wake waves on the sand bar would have been better but the tide was too high.

We Have a Shot Saturday!
We've had strong offshores pounding down the little 1ft. swell this week. I've never wanted onshore winds so bad! A storm tonight brings hope for surf tomorrow.

SUP Pup (Mackie)
Butch coming in
A great weekend! Saturday was a 3-4 hour session at the inlet. We had thigh high waves with offshores all morning. No photos because I am trying to video. The local SUP population is growing, 5 or 6 sweepers in the water. Today, ankle high with offshores and turning onshore by midmorning.
